Privacy
Short version: the only personal information this site collects is what you type into the contact form, it's used to reply to you, and it's never sold or shared for marketing. There are no ads, and analytics only runs if you accept cookies.
01Who I am
This site is run by Dylan Lambertson, an independent web developer in Raleigh, NC. For anything about your information, email me@dylanlambertson.dev or call +1 (919) 818-5695.
02What I collect
Only what you send through the contact form: your name, your email address, the topics you pick and your message. Along with it, the form sends the page you sent it from and when you started typing, which helps filter out spam.
Like nearly every website, the servers that host this site briefly process technical details such as your IP address and browser type to deliver pages and keep the site secure.
03How it's used
To read your message and reply to you. That's it. You'll also get a copy of your message by email so you have a record of it. You won't be added to a mailing list, and your details are never sold, rented or shared for marketing.
04Who helps run it
A few services handle data on my behalf, each only for its job:
- Cloudflare hosts the site and runs Turnstile, a privacy-focused check that a person (not a bot) is sending the form. It only loads once you start the form.
- Resend delivers the contact-form emails.
- Google Workspace is my inbox, where messages are stored.
- Google Analytics shows me which pages get read. Until you accept cookies it only receives anonymous, cookieless signals; after that it can use cookies to tell visits apart. Advertising features are off.
- Sentry reports errors so I can fix broken pages. Reports don't include personal details. If you accept cookies, it may keep a short replay of what happened before an error, with anything you type hidden.
05Cookies and storage
The only cookies are Google Analytics', and they're set only if you accept them in the cookie banner. Rejecting keeps them off, and you can change your mind from "Cookie settings" in the footer. There are no ads or tracking pixels.
Your browser's own storage also remembers your cookie choice, a half-written contact note (until you close the tab) and whether you've seen the intro. None of that leaves your device. The cookie policy lists everything in detail.
06How long it's kept
Messages stay in my inbox for as long as they're useful for the conversation or work they're about. Ask and I'll delete yours.
07Your choices
You can ask to see, correct or delete anything you've sent me, or ask what I hold about you, by emailing me@dylanlambertson.dev. Wherever you live, I'll honour those requests, including the rights you have under laws such as the GDPR and California's privacy laws.
08Children
This site isn't aimed at children under 13, and I don't knowingly collect their information.
09Changes
If what the site collects changes, this page will change with it, and the date at the top will say when.
